The project, in collaboration with traders, locals, visitors and businesses, focused on movement and public space in Oxford to prioritise access and servicing. Completed for £138 per sq m in just three weeks, it demonstrated how significant change can be achieved with minimal disruption and budgets. The design has inspired other local authorities across the UK, and led to a 24 per cent increase in footfall along the street, showcasing the success of the transformation.

The Top of Town Public Realm Improvements project reimagined the area as a sustainable, inclusive public space, reconnecting the community with its heritage. It features multi-use spaces like North Parade with street markets and cultural events, enhanced outdoor seating, improved lighting and wider pavements for better accessibility. The project delivered 0.8 hectares of rehabilitated land and 1.4 hectares of new blue-green infrastructure for social interaction, safety and accessibility.

The Broadmarsh Big Conversation, held in autumn 2020, was the city council’s largest consultation, gathering over 3,000 responses and 11,000 comments from local residents, businesses and groups. It focused on the future of the Broadmarsh area, with plans to return the historically accurate name, enhance the site’s topography and create undulating planting areas, pathway and seating. The design aims to restore the marsh as an urban pond – visible and accessible.

The Glasgow Barclays Campus, located in the historic Tradeston manufacturing district, is part of the Tradeston regeneration project. Three years of research and consultation aligned with Glasgow City Council’s planning framework to enhance the riverside promenade. The design directs movement from the city and river towards the heart of the Barclays site, creating a natural flow and revitalising the area to integrate seamlessly with the surrounding urban fabric.

The 1.55-hectare site, funded by Canary Wharf Group, showcases nature-led placemaking. It features a 325-metre enclosed waterway with timber bleacher seating, gardens and walkways which bring the public realm down to the water. A cantilevered aquatic shelf supports saline-resistant plants and protects the public. With 55 per cent biodiversity net gain, the area includes floating islands, accessible walkways, seating and ramps, encouraging educational engagement.
