The Pineapples awards for place

Why enter?

The Pineapples are back for 2024 with an exciting programme and a commitment to recognising projects that make a positive social, environmental and economic impact.

Gain recognition for your design and development - All shortlisted projects present their work in front of expert judges and a live audience - last year more than 800 professionals tuned into The Pineapples with thousands of shares on social media. Enthuse your staff and attract talent in seeing your work recognised.

Benchmark your work against your peers - Our rigorous judging process was created in association with the Design Council to ensure only the best projects win a golden pineapple for their social impact and positive contribution to urban life. That’s also why our expert judges can award more than one pineapple per category.

Align yourself with our winners - Be part of a growing community committed to making a positive social impact through their design and development work, including AHMM, Socius, Manchester City Council, Argent, David Chipperfield Architects, LadnsecU+I, LB Walthamstow, Urban Splash, City of Edinburgh, Places for People, TOWN, Leeds City Council, LB Wandsworth, Poplar HARCA, St George’s City, CITU, Capital & Centric, Allied London, Urban&Civic, National Trust, Lancaster West Estate, Scottish Canals,  Lewisham Citizens and London CLT.

Increase the profile of your project or organisation - You’ll be featured on The Developer website, in the pages of our uncommonly beautiful print magazine, on social media channels and, if shortlisted, you’ll be featured in our online gallery and present your project in front of a live audience at the Festival of Place: The Pineapples.

Who doesn’t want to win a golden pineapple? The pineapple is a tradition symbol of welcome, which is what we think all good places and developments should be – welcoming
